This is going to mean different things to different people. Permaculture doesn't intend to dispense modern tools and techniques if they are respectul of the principles and ethics. We are sometimes going to use gas-powered earth-moving equipment, and sometimes we might use horses to plow. Every site has different needs, the guiding principle is that we are collaborating with nature, not trying to overcome it.

Also, everyone is unique and has special talents with respect to technology and change. I have been using computers for about 40 years now and I am very comfortable with social media and content creation tools. Honestly, I prefer being outside and working the soil, but it's important to help others understand how permaculture can improve their lives and their communities. So I try to give back in that way. The volunteers at the Rice Street Community Garden all give in different ways and the Garden has grown and changed over its five-year lifespan.

In the near future, hopefully we will start seeing more and more communities develop that allow permaculture to be a part of their design. The below link is a good example of what is possible!

Agri-hoods
