Basically, working as designers, contractors, crew-leaders, and teachers all at the same time Zev and I were able to create a course that served client's needs while providing hands-on education at a fraction of the typical permaculture course (although this definitely was not a PDC and we made that very clear). Landowners paid into the course budget, saved a lot of money on parts of their large installation projects. The money coming from the clients helped off-set students' costs, which the students paid for with their labor. "Many hands make light work". Each day of class began with an hour-long presentation of the design, explaining how all the various elements in the system served one another and interacted in synergy to create a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
