Let me explain why and give you some brilliant practical advice on treating the bitter issue of less than perfect skin.

Is Your Skin in Disarray?

Minor skin irritation or conditions can become huge issues during the winter months thanks to the harsh weather. The greatest irritant that we are exposed to is the climate in the form of severe cold weather and the use of artificial heat. Occasionally a blemish takes up resistance on our chin and the red patch on our cheekbone is now a full time tenant. So the question is what can we do to get rid of the unwanted squatters?

Argan Oil

Is a brilliant skin and hair nourishment tool. It contains large amounts of antioxidant Vitamin E which help to heal dry skin especially eczema and psoriasis while easing the inflammation associated with these conditions. You can apply argan oil directly to your body and facial skin as well as your hair. The fatty acid and carotenoids (powerful antioxidants) in Argan oil balance your skins natural moisture levels.

Sea Salt

Eczema and psoriasis can also be tackled with sea salt as a means of exfoliation. Using sea salts to remove dead skin cells helps to encourage a new layer of skin to come through giving a fresher appearance to your skin. Mineral rich sea salts can calm the skin and inflammation however I would not recommend them for the face. Add 2 large tablespoons of sea salts to the bath and soak away your old scaly cells.

Aloe Vera

There are lots on ingredients that can help with all our skincare SOS’s, one of my favorites is Aloe Vera. The gel like liquid which you can extract from the voluptuous leaves of the Aloe Vera plant give much needed hydration to sensitive and dehydrated skin cells helping to repair damage, may it be from the sun or because of a trauma to the skin. It is also brilliant for treating scared tissue.

Shea Butter

Rich buttery Shea will also condition and enrich your skins texture. It has the wonderful ability to leave your skin feeling luxurious and softer than you can ever imagine. It also helps boost your skin elasticity therefore encouraging a youthful appearance.

Helichrysum Oil

Is a rejuvenating and a powerfully anti aging tool while also supporting the skin cells. Due to its gentle nature it is brilliant on children's skin to help heal wounds burns or to calm sensitive skin.

Carrot Oil

Anti aging carrot oil may be found in an essential oil or a vegetable oil either will work wonders on wrinkles fine lines and age spots. Adding 3-6 drops of organic carrot seed essential oil to your daily moisturiser is all it takes to help your ‘grow old gracefully’ campaign. The vitamin A & B-carotene rich plant repairs skin cell damage and brings new skin cells to life naturally.

Hopefully our SOS Skincare advice will help calm and heal your winter skincare blues.

Orange instills happiness, prosperity and optimism

Lucy A x
