So, to help, staff of EUROSPAR and ViVOXTRA are selling a special Recipe Book full of over 40 delicious recipes for cakes, biscuits and buns. Not only will the recipe book inspire budding bakers, but it will also raise smiles across Northern Ireland as all proceeds from sales of the book will go to Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children (NICFC).

The book will be on sale throughout March at all EUROSPAR and ViVOXTRA stores in Northern Ireland for a donation of £3.00 and the money raised for the charity will help to provide support for local families affected by cancer.

Sorcha Chipperfield, Corporate Fundraiser for NICFC said: “Spending time with your Mum is always special, and getting together to bake is a brilliant way to enjoy time together. By purchasing this recipe book, you’ll not only be giving a great gift, but you’ll also be helping to support children and their Mums who are affected by cancer.”

Bronagh Luke, Corporate Marketing Controller at the Henderson Group added, “We are delighted to be supporting Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children again this year. We hope our customers will love the Hug in a Mug Recipe Book and will really enjoy trying some of the recipes themselves!”

EUROSPAR and ViVOXTRA stores across Northern Ireland have been fundraising for NICFC as their official charity since May 2011 and together the partnership has raised £300,000.

Every week in Northern Ireland three children, teenagers and young adults (0-24 years old) are diagnosed with cancer. Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children is the leading local cancer charity providing practical and emotional support to families in the community, at home and in hospital.

The money raised will also fund the charity’s brand new therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down. The new facility will provide free short breaks for up to 500 families a year who are living with cancer. At Daisy Lodge families will have precious time to be together as a family during a traumatic and challenging time. A short break will allow them to share experiences, gain support from other families and create special memories together.

For more information about Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children, or to find out where you can buy your copy of the Hug in a Mug Recipe Book, please contact [email protected] or call 028 9080 5599.
