Browed over by our new look!

Beauty Review

OK, so we know HD Brows aren’t exactly a ‘new’ phenomenon, but we’ve always had a ‘difficult’ relationship with our eyebrows here at DubBelin so several times appointments have been made and cancelled as last minute jitters have set in.

However, after speaking to a close friend and seeing how well her brows looked, we were convinced to finally bite the bullet and give the procedure a try. Our friend couldn’t recommend Belfast Beauty Company highly enough, so, caught up in the moment, we booked one of the team in.

The fact that they had to write a review made it impossible to chicken out this time, so soon it was ‘High Ho, High Ho, it’s off to HD we go!”

My eyebrows and I haven’t exactly had a harmonious relationship. Years of over plucking, over waxing and thinning them out have left them looking particularly patchy and sparse. It’s become a constant complaint of mine upon viewing any pics of myself “I look like I don’t have any eyebrows!”

So due to this very reason, I was the chosen guinea pig for our HD Brows review. I’d heard some really good things about Belfast Beauty Company, so this did ease my nerves a little.

I should add here, I am a complete baby when it comes to pain thresholds, so the idea of being plucked, tweezed and THREADED (gulp!) scared me beyond belief!

Aileen was the therapist tasked with transforming my threadbare, unruly nightmare beasts into brows of beauty.

Upon entering the treatment room, the first thing my eyes lit upon was various instruments of torture laid out on the bench.

Sensing my apprehension, Aileen set my mind at ease by patiently going through each of the seven steps, explaining just what each item was used for in the procedure.

Prior to getting underway, Aileen and I discussed the shape and style of brows I wanted. After measuring and marking out where my eyebrows should begin and end, we got started.

Aileen is an absolute perfectionist so the process can take between 45 minutes to an hour. However she happily chats away throughout this time so you really don’t notice the time going by. If anything, it actually takes on a relaxing, therapeutic feel.

Aileen let me see how my brows were progressing as different stages and patiently made any adjustments that I requested.

Once they were complete, I’ll be 100% honest here; I did freak out a little! They were a lot thicker and darker than what I was used to. I put on a smile and brave face but once I left the salon, I frantically tried to cover my new brows with my hair!

When I got home, I did give them a little rub in the hope they wouldn’t appear so dark (sorry Aileen!) however as she promised, by Day 2 I had started to get used to them and by the end of Day 3, I completely loved them and wondered how I had gone so long without HD Brows in my life.

I can now safely say I am an HD convert. It’s amazing how many people have commented on my new look – it just proves how important your eyebrows are to your overall features.

If you are contemplating trying the HD look yourself, I would totally recommend the girls at Beauty Company Belfast. Friendly, professional and real experts at what they do, if they can convert me, they will satisfy even the most hardest to please clients!

For more information or to make a booking, contact Belfast Beauty Company on: 44 (0) 2890 332546</inline>
