Coupons are a fantastic way to bring new customers into your store. Let's face it, everyone loves a bargain!
I would highly recommend looking at coupons as a beginning and an end. They are the perfect tool to gain engagement when you first launch a new product. A coupon, dropped into the right marketing setting, can skyrocket a product launch.
Coupons are also a handy tool when a product comes to the end of it's life. Get rid of old stock, products that don't sell well, or lines that you are retiring.
If you have priced your products to include potential sales and coupons, you will not be left out of pocket, and you may well pick up new customers and product reviews along the way.
All of this is great news for your small Handmade business.
There are many ways to share your coupon with your audience, to get maximum attention -
Don't share coupon codes on Pinterest, as this is a long term platform, and they don't like content that is not evergreen.
First, log in to your Guild account, using your PayPal Business email address, and the password that you used to register with the Guild.
Go to your DASHBOARD and then head on over to the VENDOR DASHBOARD.
On your VENDOR MENU, you will see COUPONS - click on COUPONS
Now you are ready to start creating coupons. All of your coupons will be listed here, once you have added them, and you can come back and edit them at any time.
Don't show coupon in store unless you have added it to your entire product range
Keep your coupon title simple, and use capital letters, without spaces or punctuation
When you share your coupon code, tell your customers that they need to add the coupon to the product in the basket
If you have added additional text in your product descriptions, remember to remove it once the coupon has ended
Remember to exclude the use of the coupon from items already on sale, to avoid a loss
Frustrating your customers will guarantee they leave empty handed and are reluctant to return
Please don't worry. The worst that can happen is that your coupon doesn't work....
but this will seriously disappoint your customers. Allow this to happen and you may well lose a sale.
That's not gonna happen though right?
Always check that any coupons work. You do this but putting your product into the basket and adding the coupon.
Never skip the checking stage, and all will be groovy.
