Questions to ground your soul & stay awake to your true self
There isn’t a magic formula for soul work. Creating space to be still and listen to what is happening in my soul can be a fight. But I’m never sorry I quieted myself and listened to what is happening beneath the surface. I find that these questions make room for me to invite the Lord into whatever is already happening in my life. These questions help posture my heart to listen better, to both my soul and the Lord. They serve as “numbing” prevention and help me “stay awake” to my true self. I pray they do the same for you.
Before you begin, I’d encourage you to find a quiet place to be alone, with as few distractions as possible. I try to leave my phone in another room. I find it helpful to journal my answers. Pick one or a two questions to start with.
As you answer these questions, I encourage you to pay attention to what questions you’re drawn to as much as which ones you’re resisting. Our resistance can reveal just as much as where we feel drawn. May the Lord meet you as you show up with your soul.
