Why is this important
I see many coaching business owners lacking in confidence, they wonder where their clients are and why they can't find them. They've stopped putting out offers and wait in hope for clients to come a-knocking, because surely that's what will happen, because that's what the others are doing. But as the wait gets longer, the feelings of doubt in ability grow stronger.
In comparison, I also see coaches doing amazingly well and quite literally knocking it out the park, they are thriving, their clients are loving them and they are picking up exactly what they are putting down with ease.
You maybe wondering why is that, what is the difference between the two businesses. The business that is thriving is doing a few specific things very well.
Firstly they know their ideal clients so incredibly well, they have spent time studying their ideal clients in detail, and because of that they know their ideal clients needs and desires inside out.
They listen carefully and then at the perfect time they create a specific offer to help them with that problem, always something that their ideal clients need help with right now, at exactly the price they need right now.
And that is the key

Understanding Your Niche
Getting into the hearts and minds of our ideal client and sharing to them exactly what they need for where they are at is the key.
But so many coaches get massively stuck on their niche and how they are helping their clients, but being stuck on this thing alone will have outgoing recurring problems in your coaching business.
For example, If until now your offer has been saying you offer 1:1 mindset coaching is very easy for your prospective clients to put it off, to think.. "ah i'll do that another month", or "i'm not sure if i need it", or maybe "I can figure it out on my own" OR the dreaded, "I can't afford this right now".
If Instead you create a specific program especially for what your ideal client needs help on right now it will immediately have greater success.
If you was looking for a coach and one website you visited was fairly general had the option of choosing 1:1 mindset coaching, and then you visited another website offering a 1:1 Mindset Make Over - Upgrade your beliefs and achieve greater success. Which would you choose?
To start with I always suggest looking back closely at your own buying decisions. What attracted you to the service, the course, the program you purchased.
What was the name, the tag line, the social media presence, the email copy. What made you tick and what made you buy, because that is exactly the same reason YOUR clients will buy from you.
If we make our offers as desirable as possible and packaged them up to be exciting and the only and best option for your ideal clients, you will attract your ideal clients to buy from you with ease.
I'm going to give you an example, I worked with a business coach.
We wanted to position her businesses as their best choice with the best offer, for her ideal clients, for what they need right now in their business.
We observed what her ideal clients needs are right now, we decided what was her advantage, with their needs specifically in mind, we buffed up an unique offer right down into a small perfectly shaped diamond.
I'm going to break these steps down for you.
Could she as a business coach help clients with most areas of growing a business? Well yes, their was numerous options.
If she said I will help you to grow your business. Would that excite you?
I'd say its too broad, but what if I she said I will show you how to get your first 3 clients?
That's better.
So if she told you she could help you get your first 3 clients from social networking
Yes...that's getting more interesting.
So now if she said. I will teach you the exact strategies to get your first 3 clients on Instagram.
Now that is a perfectly buffed down diamond of an offer.
Could she help you how to do a ton of other stuff, to grow your business, is that the only thing she can do? No.
But by condensing and distilling what she coaches into a bite size offer, with what her clients need help with right now makes the offer very attractive, appealing and unique.
How you interest a client to want to work with you is the most important step in growing your client business.
In the next chapter, I will help you to do exactly that.
Action Step - Write out a client profile. Give your profile person a name and write all about them like you are describing a person you know very well.

Step 1 : Get Curious
This first step is all about getting very curious about your ideal client. You should now feel certain of who your ideal client is and have a page written out containing all the things you know about them, so now it's important to get deeper on that. It's time to really decide who you want to help, and how you're going to help them. This is why niching is so important, if you don't know who you want to help how are you ever going to be able to offer anything?
So please keep your client profile top of mind, lets imagine your client profile, she is a lady and her names is Judy. Open your awareness to everyone else just like Judy. What are they facing right now. It's about getting in her heart and mind and uncovering what help does she need right now. Collating this information will be invaluable and will enable you to meet her exactly where she is at.
How do you uncover your ideal clients needs?
There is no one way to do this, this should just become part of your daily activity, and the more you do the easier it will get. The perfect first place to start is in Facebook groups, get where your ideal client Judy would be and observe
Raise your awareness.
Look at the questions people are asking in Facebook groups, what are people asking for help with and even check out the replies, because from the answers you will discover even more. Notice, is their is lots of answers and questions in that thread? If yes, you've discovered a piece of gold because it will become even more obvious what people need help with right now.
Next you need to keep all the information and ideas you collate in a swipe file. If you are unsure what that is, create a file in your laptop and keep all of the information you discover inside that one place, so you can easily find this knowledge you've collated and vitally the language is all in one place, in your swipe file.
When you embody your ideal clients current needs, everything else becomes so much easier. Doing this step alone will open up an incredible wealth of information for you and will pull back the curtain on exactly what you need to create.
Your Advantage
You've seen exactly what your ideal client needs help with. And now it's time to work out what's your advantage point.
What do you love to do, what are you really good at. And what specifically can you zone in on and bring to the table...what is your zone of genius?
In the previous chapter example of the business coach, she recognised she was amazing on instagram and knew ways to get new clients through her marketing skills on that platform. Discovering this took some digging and coaching as it was so natural for her she took it for granted.
There is likely to be many things that you are naturally good at, but you take those things for grated too, or have never even noticed. If you are not sure ask a friend or someone you've worked with before, ask them..have they noticed one thing you are really good at. You may be surprised at their answers
So for now focus on uncovering what your ideal client needs help with, and what specific and focused thing you are good at.
When you create an offer in this way it's perfect for a pivot in a time of change, your previous offers weren't getting any attention, or you're unclear on what to offer.
Working in this way enables your ideal clients to experience a taste of your coaching and often helps clients to recognise the value in coaching, which is often something you have to experience first hand. Working 1:1 with a coach is something unique and transnational and I believe we should all experience this to be great coaches ourselves.
Action Step - Questions to ask yourself, and brainstorm. Draw a line down the middle of your page and create two columns

Step 2 : Check it Out –
Now you have all your findings, and you are likely to be thinking ok my client needs help with XYZ. So in this step It's important to check with people that your market research has uncover the right thing, so its time to verify this is needed. It's important to check before you go head long into this idea into an offer.
So I recommend creating some content on this subject to discover if its popular.
Create a value packed blog post on this topic, and share in groups to answer questions asked, remember to check out what the reaction is from others in the group to your content.
Ask your list - email out to your list a question and ask them to reply to your email their thoughts.
Create a focus group of people - ask them ...would this help you right now? And listen very very carefully to the answers
The reply's you get are valuable and will help you to know what steps you need to include in your offer.
For instance if someone replied with a specific question around your idea you can be sure others are thinking the same too, so you know you need to mention this in your copy and cover this specific problem area.
This information is so valuable, and brilliant market research. So it's important to collate all the information and add it to your swipe file for your sales pages and website copy
Action Step - What am I going to create for my audience to see if they are interested. List blog post ideas, or any other content planned out.

Step 3 Take Action
Update your website copy, plan what you will offer, write out your sales page and basically get moving. This is not a time to procrastinate on this, so practice in keeping your momentum and focus, print out positive affirmations and also have mantras that will keep your motivation up and your confidence in check.
Keeping a positive mindset is so important because so many people trip themselves up here and they start to let the doubt creep in, but believe in yourself. You have the validation from the last two stages, now it's time to believe in your ability, know you're amazing and capable. I know you can do it.
You are immersed in exactly what your ideal clients needs are you can start making your next move, you know the language your ideal clients use, you have the swipe file you've collated now its time to start using this valuable information.
Website
So first head over to your website and sprinkle in the language that your ideal clients have been using, doing this will help you to be relatable to your ideal clients and what you are saying is basic what they are saying, and they will comforted by that, with an internal knowing that they are in the right place. You also need to update your social media about info so all your pages are in perfect alignment
Planning your offer
Consider your research carefully and think of the ways you can help with this problem, and then condense it down a level, remember you are going to focus on one aspect and focus on that only.
For instance I have one program called Sell Out Your Signature Program. This programme is focused and we zone in on exactly what your ideal client needs are right now and create the signature programs around those needs. Can I help businesses in more areas than that one ...yes, I have a lot of experience as I've had my own successful businesses for 25 years, I have so many ways to help businesses.
But importantly, 1. I know that's the biggest problems coaches have. 2. it's stopping them from getting consistent income. 3. I love helping businesses with this and always see a rapid transformation in their business from this.
And now I want you to do the same, so decide - 1. What's your ideal clients biggest problem right now. 2. Why is it a problem for them . 3. how do you love helping people. And there you have your shiny diamond, all buffed up ready to share with the world. This could be; 1:1 coaching package, a course, group coaching, or a live or on-line event.
To start with you could test out your idea by checking people are interested in your offer by choosing a small segment of it and creating some free content.
You could start with a free opt-in, which is when people sign up for a freebie, they hand over their email to you and in return you share with them some valuable content. You really want those that sign up to have results or insights thanks to your free offer.
Ideas for a freebie opt-in could be; a cheat sheet, a masterclass, a free challenge, or an e-book, this is a great way to see how interested people are in your idea and will also build your list with people who are ready to make the next move to working with you.
Depending how large your list is and how warm your audience are (how well they know you, how well they trust you) you may decide to create the paid offer and share that to your audience, if you have been asking your audience questions on their needs they already will be wondering what you have coming up and may be ready to purchase from you
When you are ready to create your paid offer you will need to allow a day to create your sales page, which will share the results that your clients can expect from working with you.
Action Step - Create your sales page which will be similar to your website copy but more detailed on this specific offer

Step 4 Share It – Now it's time to talk about your amazing offer. We want people to know why you, it's time to talk about all the benefits, explaining why it's perfect for your ideal clients right now for where they are at. Why it's the only choice for them. You will need to talk about this at least twice it as much as you would expect to.
And in case you didn't realise this but you have to talk about it a lot more than you ever imagined....if you think to yourself, "I've talked about it once and no one was interested" that isn't enough, you have to share and talk about it all over your platforms and letting people know this is there best choice right now and this will give them the transformation the need.
Get behind your offer 100%, promote your theory and tell people why this is the best possible option for them
Get people interested and excited for what your offering
One very valuable piece of advice is to run your business like a test, and it completely changes everything.
When you decide to try and test it out, see what works, it could take off immediately or you may need to tweak your idea again. When you adopt this mindset that you are testing things out and seeing how you can make it better and more irresistible each launch, you are able to detach from the results.
However you do it, remember you need to get people excited for what you've got to offer and position yourself as their best option right now to help them
