Morning Routine Cheat Sheet

Setup your day to get shit done!

Morning Routine

Starting your day off right can be the difference between a day of "crushing it" & a day scrolling on instagram. Tweak this framework to create the perfect routine to start your day!

1. Cold Shower Awakening

  • Trick yourself into getting out of bed with a hot shower

  • Once clean, count down from 5, crank water to 100% COLD
  • Do 32 deep fast breaths/ arm pumps on front side, then same on back

2. Get Dressed & Make Bed

  • Put on all clothes
  • Make your bed
  • Open window

3. Affirmations

Choose 2-5 things you're working on. Could be increasing confidence or attracting a business relationship. Write a sentence that states this as ALREADY true. Read your affirmations out every morning with maximum passion using arms, loud voice, and music you connect with. Keep tweaking and refining until you FEEL what it's like to have it when doing your affirmation.

4. Journaling

  • On any blank piece of paper, free form journal on a topic of your choosing for 3-6 sentences. I use "The Daily Stoic" by Ryan Holiday to find my topic to journal on for the day.
  • Decide on an intention for the day. Write it down. It could be "make Julie smile" or "find a new killer product."
  • Write down 3 things you're grateful for. Single words like "avocados" or "Julie" are fine. No need for details.

5. Get Everything Else Done

Do the things you have to complete before leaving the house such as brushing teeth, getting ready, making coffee, etc. The goal is to get everything off your mind to prepare for meditation.

6. Meditate

I personally do 20 mins per day, but I started with just 5 mins per day and that still has a great "mental reset" effect including lowered residual stress and increased focus through the day.

If you're brand new, download the "Headspace" app and do their 10 day challenge every morning for 10 days to set the habit.
