Clara Brown


> Clara Brown (c.1803 - 1885), freed slave, first black woman in Colorado, and one of the founders of the St. James Methodist Church
> Chin Lin Sou (1837–1894), railroad foreman and early Chinese American community leader
> John Evans
(1814–1897), 2nd Territorial Governor of Colorado.
> Barney Ford (1822-1902). Born a slave, escaped and came to Colorado during the gold rush. Established a number of businesses and became 14th richest man in Colorado.
> Augusta Tabor (1833-1895). Married to Horace Tabor. Divorced by her husband who married Baby Doe. Devoted much time and effort to activities of the Pioneer Ladies' Aid Society in Denver. Died a wealthy woman.

> Helen Hunt Jackson (1830-1885) - Poet, writer and Native American activist. Buried by her husband in Cheyenne Canyon, Colorado Springs at Helen Hunt Falls (a grave marker is there). To avoid vandalism, her grave was later moved to Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
