We all have one in the bathroom. It's nice, it keeps our feet warm and it's comfortable to step on after a shower.
When you step out of the showering dripping wet, your bath mat traps the moisture, allowing mold and bacteria to grow, making it a perfect breeding grounds for loads of dangerous bacteria, mold, and dust mites.
To keep your bath mat germ-free:
Refrigerator drawers most of the time appear clean, however they could be hiding some dangerous microorganisms and in most severe cases E. coli and Salmonella or similar.
These bacteria, if they get in your food can lead to symptoms such as an upset stomach or even to something more severe, like kidney failure.
To reduce your chances of getting sick and to avoid foodborne illness, make sure to wash your fruits and veggies before eating or cutting them and don't forget to wash and clean your fridge drawers and shelves at least once a month.
Environmental Science & Technology journal published a study where they tested 21 different vacuums and guess what - every single one released small amount of dust, bacteria, and allergies into the air.
With older ones and the ones without a proper filter the pollution was much more severe.
How to prevent it?

According to refinery29.com magazine, the average person sheds roughly 15 grams of dead skin every week, which stays in your bed sheets becoming food for dust mites.
So it's not surprise that The Good Housekeeping Institute recommends that you should wash your sheets and other bedding at least every two weeks.
Otherwise, as I said above, you’ll be getting into bed with dust mites, dirt, hair, pet dander, oils from your skin, and other gross stuff that spreads more and more.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention research showed that cigarette smoke contains more than 7,000 chemicals, about 70 of which are known to cause cancer.
But even if you are not smoking yourself, the danger of passive smoking is enormous. The CDC estimates that approximately 2,500,000 people have died from second-hand smoke since 1964.
Protect yourself and prohibit anyone from smoking inside your home, especially with all the windows and doors shut.

Beside the fact that mould is absolutely gross it can also be dangerous for your health.
It can grow in all different areas of your home, from your bathroom to your bedroom and basement. It build up in damp areas, especially if there’s not much airflow.
Exposure to it can lead to nausea, headaches, nasal congestion, and more, and it can further exacerbate asthma symptoms.
DIY solution for killing mould:
White distilled vinegar + baking soda.
As much as loving as their are, our pets, if we don't take care of them properly can cause us to be sick, get an allergy or have a smelly house.
The best way to prevent your allergies from flaring up around your pet is to keep it off of your furniture, fabrics, and carpets as much as possible.
If you can't resist your furry friends you should clean all the hair from the furniture and carpets at least once per week to stop dander from piling up.
We are giving away one year of free house cleaning (worth over €1000) to one lucky household.
