Introduction

You're taking a big first step.

Congratulations!

No, seriously, congratulations. You’re taking a step that a majority of people don’t, and it’s going to have lasting positive impacts on your life and the lives of those around you.

By putting out your financial fires and committing yourself to be better in the future about your money, you’re setting yourself up for success. This booklet is designed to give you all the base tools - truthfully, all the tools you’ll really need - in order to manage money effectively.

Don’t worry. At first, this is going to seem scary; there’s a multi-billion dollar industry in place to make it so, after all. But the truth of the matter is that you are able to understand finances, you are able to make educated choices and you are able to handle it.

This is because, when you strip out all the marketing jazz, there are basically three categories of money management:

  1. Know thyself
  2. Prepare for the now
  3. Prepare for the future

That’s it. I swear.

In this booklet, I’m going to give you all the tools you need, and you won’t be spending out of pocket to get them. A majority of them are totally free, and for the ones that aren’t, you’re not paying any more than your netflix subscription. Every single one of them I currently use, talk to the people behind it, and love almost unconditionally. They’re all built by passionate teams who really do want to help.

I am a big believer in systems; if everything is automated and painless, you’re way ahead of the game. All of the apps I’ve curated for you can work separately or together, but they all create systems that are easy to maintain once they’re setup.

So without any delay, let’s get started! I’ll be with you every step of the way, and you can always reach out to me at eric@redtail.co if you have any questions, or if you just want to stop by and say hi.

In it with you,

Eric
